Do I need a referral from a GP?

Referral is not necessary for private patients, those wishing to claim medical insurance or for WorkSafe or TAC patients. Veterans Affairs patients require a GP referral every 12 months.

GP's are now able to refer patients for Osteopathic treatment under the Medicare EPC programme for Chronic Disease Management. This allows eligible patients 5 allied health visits per year at a reduced cost. You will need to speak to your GP to see whether you are eligible for this service.

If you have been referred by your GP or another Healthcare provider, with your permission, we will always notify them of your diagnosis, treatment and progress.
